Born and educated in Vienna. During her University education and first professional years she commuted between Vienna and London. Ruth graduated (PhD) in 1994 while working at the foreign desk of the Austrian newspaper KURIER as well as reporting from the United Kingdom and Ireland.
The next career step took her on a path of management positions with the Austrian business daily Wirtschaftsblatt working as International Editor and News Editor.

Today Ruth writes about money, innovation, startups and the creative industries. She is regular contributor for Austria's leading weekly magazine profil, writing for profil extra and PORTFOLIO. For NEWS magazine she writes about Personal Finance.

Ruth Reitmeier lives and works in Vienna. She writes in German and English.
